Wildwood Hills Ranch is a 400-acre non-profit facility, set in
the scenic hills of MadisonCounty, just south of Des Moines. Founded in 2001,
the ranch exists to transform lives and strengthen communities by providing
healing, hope, and God’s unconditional love to children and youth at-risk. Free
summer camp and year-round retreats are offered to at-risk children ages 8 -18.
Kids are immersed in a fun, safe environment where character, leadership, and
teamwork are modeled and taught.
The ranch is an ideal setting for
children to learn new life skills and gain the confidence necessary to
transcend current impoverished, abused, or neglected environments. Campers
enjoy first-class facilities and recreational activities including horseback
riding, water sports, team building, arts and crafts and much more. Most
importantly, children are offered hope and love while being challenged to grow
into people of integrity who contribute to the communities they live in.
Freedom House, Inc. is a non-denominational, not for profit organization that provides faith-based, structured, affordable housing for ex-offenders and recovering addicts with the goal of helping them to walk the Christian life in the real world.
The Dream Center is an organization devoted to serving the city of Des Moines. We are a network of relationship based community outreaches, focused on meeting the practical and spiritual needs of the Greater Des Moines.
We establish relationships with organizations, businesses, churches, and ministries; training, equipping, empowering, and encouraging them to be effective at reaching this city for Christ.
The moment you drink our coffee, you will notice something
excellent has come together. Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee is grown in Rwanda and is cultivated
by hand to ensure only the best beans make it into your cup. We invest in this
brew from the farmers who harvest the beans in Bukonya, Rwanda, to the artisan
Roaster who small batch roasts them in Roswell, Georgia.
God birthed this ministry in 2004 through an 18-year-old girl
found living under a bridge in downtown Des Moines. Since then He has
grown the ministry to include after-school programming for inner-city youth
ages 6-17 at our FreedomCenter campus,
transitional housing for homeless young adults ages 18-22, and even youth
centers in rural communities of Iowa.
Meals from the Heartland is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization
composed of volunteers who package meals for delivery to starving people around
the world. Individuals, businesses, schools, churches and various civic
organizations have come together to show the nation and the world what people
who truly care can accomplish.
The Polk County Jail Ministry exists to bring the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ to those incarcerated and to all the staff of the Polk County Sheriff's offices.
The purpose of Hope Ministries is to proclaim and demonstrate
the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, meeting the spiritual, physical and
emotional needs of men, women and children who are homeless or in need of hope.
To provide youth, adults and families with an effective and
comprehensive Christian faith-based solution to life-controlling drug and
alcohol problems in order to become productive members of society. By applying
biblical principles, Teen Challengeendeavors to help people become
mentally-sound, emotionally-balanced, socially-adjusted, physically-well, and
spiritually-alive.
RuthHarbor is a Christ-centered home for young women who are alone
and facing unplanned pregnancies. "Ruth" means compassion; "Harbor"
means a place of refuge, safety, retreat, shelter.
RuthHarbor is a 6-8 resident home located in Des Moines. It provides young women who are alone and facing unplanned
pregnancies a truly viable option -- a safe harbor -- by providing housing,
education, counseling, health care, parenting training or adoption assistance,
spiritual support and more for the duration of their pregnancies.
Angel Tree is a ministry that reaches out to the children of
inmates and their families with the love of Christ. This unique program gives
your church an opportunity to share Christ’s love by helping to meet the physical,
emotional, and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners.
